We should be heading out again within the next 10 days as I got my new driver's license in the mail today. It says my new middle name on it, which is crazy. Woohoo.
My boyfriend is such a good sport. Today he was my beauty parlor guinea pig. I gave him a torturous facial which included a mask that burns and painful poking-like extractions. I guess I am not gonna be a beautician any time soon. Oh well. At least I can give pretty good haircuts to myself and my friends. Just never let me touch your face. How lucky am I to have a guy who lets me do stuff like that because I am weird and bored?
Since this journal is supposed to be about traveling, let me write some about that. I need to get the car all clean and figure out how to get enough strength to take the oil drain plug thing off my car so I can change the oil. If anyone has any tips about that I would appreciate it. I know how to change the oil, I just can't seem to get the bolt off that keeps all the oil in the car. I need to organize my stuff really well and decide what i can leave at home. I took too much stuff last time and was too unorganized. Maybe I don't need three different strengths of sunblock. I am sure I will be just fine with a 15 and don't need to take the four and eight.
Ok, yeah, preparing for traveling is boring. Any places people think I should go? Let me know and I will add it to the list.

Back in the East Bay
8 days of traveling and we are back. Today we drove from just outside of Reno where we slept on a dirt road near train tracks back to Oakland. I cancelled credit cards, reported debit cards lost, made an appointment for the DMV to get a new license, kissed my cats, compared jail stories/experiences with the roommates, and played an out of tune guitar that is not mine that made me miss mine even more. We decided to head back out on the road as soon as I get all my documents back. I gotta tell you, it is gonna be nice not to get woken up by the sun beating down on me at 8 am tomorrow.
While I am back I need to hang out with people, organize my stuff and decide what I don't need, and change my oil. Hopefully doing it myself won't mess Poubelle up even more.
Oh, who wants to make bets on which state Poubelle breaks down in? How about which state I get arrested in next???

Wallet
Lost my wallet somewhere in Utah. Heading back home now I guess. I am so depressed about this all. Why have we had such bad luck on this trip????

Utah and Idaho suck
Spent the last two days in Idaho. Idaho sucks. So does spending a night in jail for something that could have been explained if you had been given a chance, but you weren't because you live in a car and have tattoos and "aren't from around here." Now we are in Salt Lake City and I am wearing a long sleeved shirt in 90+ degree weather so the hicks here won't judge me as well. We haven't eaten in a few days because they aren't exactly vegan friendly in Canyon County jail. SLC is supposed to have some good vegan food. Lets hope.
While in jail my car was broken into. Things stolen: 350 dollar guitar, 6 year old laptop, Jake's Ipod, my cosmetic bag with toothbrush, face wash, fingernail clippers, etc. Stupid. THings left: my Ipod, 2 nice cameras. Woot.
More later plus pictures, hopefully. Gonna try to get a new laptop. Will lock it in secret compartment in car. Car is fine. Go Poubelle, go!

Good to go?
We should be good to go in a little over an hour. They think they have the air conditioning all figured out, so 700 bucks later and here we are. Hopefully my next post will be filled with more adventure and more open road stories. First stop: SLC!

First Setback
We've had our first setback and haven't even left yet. I put it off and put it off, but finally I took my car in to get the AC fixed this morning. It needed to be upgraded cos it used the old, bad freon. Fine. I figured that would happen. 350 bucks. But now they say there is an electrical problem and the controls in the car won't turn the AC on. Fuck. They are closed on the weekend, so I might not get my car back till Monday and I think we were planning on leaving Sunday. I guess that gives me more time to clean my room and organize things here before we go. Lame, lame lame.
